Tom Knorr Award for Community Service Chief Gerald R. Whitman – In appreciation of his enduring dedication to serve and protect; for his innovative leadership of the Denver Police Department; and for creating the community policing model in Greater Capitol Hill and Denver.
To honor Chief Whitman, several state and city officials will be in attendance including former Governor Bill Ritter, City Councilwoman Jeanne Robb, newly appointed police Chief Robert White, Deputy Chief Michael Battista, Division Chief David Quinones, District Commanders Tony Lopez, Kris Kroncke, Rhonda Jones and former District 6 Police Commander Deborah Dilley, as well as others.
