FINE ART APPLICATION

All work under this application must be 100% original and produced by the exhibiting artist.  Reproductions or prints of applicant's original art may be sold, but should represent a percentage of the total work on display.  Work done by a production studio, is machine made or mass produced is not acceptable under this application.  No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns, no factory produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist, no jewelry commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed under this application.  All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist. 

Fine Art application categories include: Ceramics, Drawings/Graphics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry (all parts original), Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Wood

**Fine Art applicants will be juried and will be sited for a location first, in order of jury score and application completion date.  Fine Art vendors will participate in the People's Fair Best in Show. 

Additional items to be included with signed application & payment:
-At least 2 production photos
-At least 2 product photos
-1 booth photo
-Description of technique used to make art
-List of raw materials
-List of stores/vendors/locations where raw materials are purchased

HAND CRAFTED APPLICATION

All work under this application must be personally handcrafted by the exhibiting vendor.  A piece may incorporate some commercially produced parts, but the design and execution of the work must be the product of the exhibiting artist’s skills.  Alteration, enhancements and embellishments by the artists and handcrafted components must dominate the commercial components under this application.

Hand Crafted application categories include: Children’s Items, Dried Floral, Jewelry (beaded or strung), Mixed Media, Paper, Scents & Oils/Candles/Soaps, Wearable Art, Wood

**Hand Crafted applicants will be juried and will be sited for a location with the Personal Service and Gourmet Pre-Packaged Food applicants in order of jury score and application completion date.  There are no limits to the number of vendors accepted under this application other than fair footprint/space limitations.

- At least 1 production photo
- At least 2 product photos
- 1 booth photo
- Item description

PERSONAL SERVICE APPLICATON

This application consists of local services.  No items can be sold under this application, only services can be sold.  No medical companies will be accepted under this application (chiropractors, vision centers, dental, etc.) – medical companies will be a class of sponsorship and should contact the CHUN office.

Personal Service application categories include: Body Art/Henna (limit 4 vendors), Face-Painting (limit 4 vendors), Massage Therapy/Reflexology (limit 4 vendors), Tarot Card Reading, Other Services

**Personal Service applicants will be reviewed by CHUN staff and will be sited for a location with the Hand Crafted and Gourmet Pre-Packaged Food applicants, in order of application completion date.  Categories that have a limited number of vendors will be accepted by application completion date ONLY.  Other than individual category limits and fair footprint/space limitations, there are no limits to the number of vendors accepted under this application.

GOURMET PRE-PACKAGED FOOD APPLICATION

This application consists of non-commercially made, pre-packed, specialty foods.  Commercially pre-packaged food items, fresh food and imported items will not be accepted under this application.  No food items will be accepted under this application if they are in direct competition with People’s Fair Food vendors/or sponsors.  No beverage or alcohol can be sold under this application.
Gourmet Pre-Package Food application categories include: Salsa, Jerky, Sauces/Mixes, Other

**Gourmet Pre-Packaged Food applicants will be reviewed by CHUN staff and will be sited for a location with the Hand Crafted and Personal Service applicants, in order of application completion date.

MARKETPLACE APPLICATION

Quality made and imported items that enhance the festival's character will be accepted under this application, however it is at CHUN’s discretion to decide what businesses/items are not acceptable under this application for any reason.  To be accepted into the People’s Fair, Marketplace items must fall under one of the accepted categories.  Acceptable items may include: laser/machine cut wood or metal, frames, unique toys, hair accessories, or hand-made imports.    No food, beverage, alcohol, mass produced wearables, hats, drug paraphernalia, reference to drugs, weapons, or toys that depict weapons will be accepted in to the People’s Fair.  No items will be accepted if they are in direct competition with People’s Fair sponsors.

Marketplace application categories include: Production/Studio Work, Lifestyle-Enhancing/Beauty, Framed/Wall Art, Toys, Other

**Marketplace applicants will be reviewed by CHUN staff and will be sited for a location after Fine Art and Hand Crafted vendors are sighted, in order of application completion date.  There are a limited number of Marketplace vendors accepted into the People’s Fair (25 max).

Since 1974 Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc., CHUN, has worked with numerous non-profit and fellow neighborhood organizations to assure the quality of life greater Capitol Hill residents and business owners have come to expect. You can visit these nonprofit associations and neighborhood organizations who help to make greater Capitol Hill such a wonderful place to live or work. Some of these organizations also staff the soft drink and beer beverage booths as Community Partners in which they receive a portion of the proceeds from their sales. Each year the People’s Fair attracts food vendors from around the country.  We strive to serve a variety of foods to our 225,000+ attendees and to make the event economically fulfilling.  Join us and serve up your fare with a flair at the 42nd Annual Capitol Hill People’s Fair – Art & Music Festival.

Our Community Partners staff our beer and soft drink booths, and earn part of the proceeds from those booths for their non-profit organization.  Community Partners must have their 501(c)(3) to participate.
