The Denver Santa Claus Shop - A Toy for Every Girl & Boy since 1931
The Denver Santa Claus Shop is believed to be the longest, continuously running charity of its kind in the U.S., and is Metro Denver’s largest annual toy drive for needy children during the Holiday Season. The Santa Claus Shop is an 80-year-old, volunteer-run 501-c (3) nonprofit organization.
Last year, nearly 18,000 elementary school-aged children received toys from The Shop. The Santa Claus Shop expects to help even more youngsters this year. Each year, the Santa Claus Shop sets up giant, temporary “toy stores” so parents can shop, choosing toys for their children. Parents are “invited” to the Shop by referrals from social service groups (Department of Human Services, Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, and more).

Wish list
The Denver Santa Claus Shop seeks new and gently used toys for local needy children from newborns to 11 year old children. They ask for classic types of toys whose timeless appeal still delights children. These are the tried and true toys that their clients prefer every year:
- Dolls – Barbie, Dora, Bratz; African American, Native American and Hispanic dolls; extra outfits (no porcelain or soft dolls, please)
- Books – paperback and hardcover
- Coloring books, crayons, workbooks
- Toy trucks and cars – all sizes, metal or plastic
- Board games and puzzles
- Craft kits – bead sets, weaving looms, art sets, jewelry-making, etc.
- Infant and Toddler toys and dolls
- Construction toys – building blocks, Legos, Tinker Toys, etc.
- Balls – regulation size soccer, footballs, basketballs, volleyballs
- Girls’ toys – tea sets, hair play, jewelry, etc.
