Mural Project
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2012 PEOPLE'S FAIR MURAL PROJECT PARTICIPANTS!
The People's Fair Mural Project is a team mural painting competition taking place on-site at the People’s Fair, with the goal of giving local youth a creative outlet for self-expression. The People's Fair Mural Project works to empower our local youth to build confidence, learn teamwork, and accomplish goals. The 2012 participating Mural Project organizations included Colorado’s Finest Alternative High School, Urban Peak, Access Gallery, Humanex Academy, Colorado Youth at Risk, YING Art Education Program, and Boys and Girls Club.
Each organization formed teams of up to six members and spent two months before the People's Fair working together to conceptualize the perfect design based on the year’s theme: “Green Up”. The teams had one full day to paint their mural on Saturday, June 2, and after giving a small presentation on their project, were judged by a panel of professional artists on Sunday, June 3. The 2012 Judges Choice winning team was YING Art Education Program at St. Charles Recreation Center. The 2012 People's choice winning team was Colorado's Finest Alternative High School.

This year we have Humanex Academy, Colorado's Finest Alternative High School, Access Gallery, Wyatt Edison Charter School, Boys and Girls Club Wilfley Branch and YING Art Education Program at St. Charles Recreation Center! The 2013 Mural Project theme is 'Health and Wellness- be the best YOU you can be!'.
